Form I-129F PDF locked on Macbook Preview - any solution?

Hi all, filling out the PDF in Preview and the document is suddenly locked and inaccessible. I didn't activate a password? Is this some flaw in the file or something done intentionally by the USCIS? Any way to access the form I've already mostly completed?

Uscis didn't do anything. Hopefully you printed it out. Maybe call tech support for apple?

Hi Wildbug, you seem to have misunderstood the situation. I started filling out the PDF form that I directly downloaded from the USCIS site. Following me saving the file with my progress, it was locked with as password I didn't initiate.

A similar thing happened with us (not using Macs). It would appear that the PDF is protected in a way that prevents you downloading, editing and then saving to come back to later. I don't know why this is the case, perhaps to prevent any alteration of the forms.

 

We tried to circumvent this for a while but in the end decided it was just easier to print and manually complete.

I had that too (Windows). I just filled it out and printed it bc I couldn't save it.
