Good afternoon everyone,

For the Form I-485, do I need to include a certified copy or just a normal copy of my birth certificate will do for the form? And what happens after I send in my form? Will i be interviewed? and will they need the original copy of my birth certificate then?

Thank you so much!

Not sure what country you’re from but for Canada they need a long form birth certificate so that it shows the parental information (not typically found on the short form).

Hi, I am from Brunei. Thank you so much for responding

Just a photocopy worked for me. If it's in foreign language, you also need to provide translation.

If you get called for an interview, you'll need to bring the original BC. You may get asked for it.

Thank you so much, I am getting my birth certificate mailed to me. ☺️
