Hi everyone, I got naturalized months ago and I am applying for a Certificate of Citizenship for my son, in the form there is a question asking about my (the parents') country of citizenship or nationality? is it my country of origin or is it USA?

Thank you all.

Congratulations and you made the right decision to file for the N600, it's expensive but equally good. That part of the question is about you the parent. Since you are citizen now, you are USA nationality.  I filed my son's n600 since Oct 2022 still waiting.

Thank you for your reply, i have another question if you allow me, I read in the instructions that my (the parent) birth certificate is required, however, I know several people who applied for the N-600 for their kids without submitting their birth certificate.

Why is this a problem? Didn't you have to submit copies of your Birth Certificate for your immigration paperwork?

I thought it was required for I-485 or when consular processing for I-130.

It's a very vital document. Is there no way you can request it from country of your birth?

I contacted my country 's embassy and they offered their assistance in this matter.
