Welcome and Congratulations on your approval!

This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2  K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case onwards to your Embassy.

A few helpful NVC links:

 NVC phone number is  (603)334-0888

🚨  Please note:  They are currently NOT answering queries over the phone! 🚨

They are answering through the below emails :

➡️  NVCinquiry@state.gov ⬅️

                      OR

➡️ NVCResearch@state.gov ⬅️

Once you’ve received your NVC case number you can track your case online using the following link, until it is sent to your embassy:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV

If you need to submit an inquiry, change an address , or need to update your info in anyway NVC also has a public inquiry form where you can submit your request as well as other requests:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

Also, inside the attached PDF below are a few tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way.

These are items that everyone asks for, so they have been very helpfully put together by senior VJ Member Greenbaum for you to refer to when necessary. If you are new to this thread, please read these first as these are the most asked questions.

NVC sends petitions to the embassy every two weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I noticed a 2024 shipping calendar being shared so I have included it below.

You can use that calendar to track when the next shipment date will be.

My question was, from the USCIS receipt/arrival notice to NVC takes over, averages how much time? It seems like about 5-6 months? Is that close for an average?

Two weeks, after a week and two days send them a public inquiry asking for your case #

If that’s true, how do we get to the nearly one year for the embassy interview? Is the package at the NVC for months? Yes, I peeked at timelines. I also looked at the times before Covid, MUCH quicker.

Just asking, yes I’m going with the flow.

This question will depend according to each  embassy .

So To answer your question, NVC takes possession of your case fairly quickly. Within 30 days of the date of your approval, you should be able to obtain your new NVC case #.

I think the second part of your question would be, When does your specific embassy request the cases from NVC? That will vary depending on the embassy. For example my embassy is the Dominican Republic and they request cases from NVC around every 30-45 days. This may not be true for your embassy which is I why I say that this will depend on how frequently your embassy is requesting more cases. If you are seeing 5-6 months wait time at NVC for other cases who are also at your embassy then that’s a fair estimate to go by

Because your embassy isn’t requesting new cases at a fast pace. That doesn’t mean that other embassies aren’t faster. It’s best to join groups that are also from your embassy to be able to make comparable estimates

For some yes, for others no. Depends on the embassy

I think this group is for February 2024 but it is named February 2023. I received my NOA2 on February 23, 2024 but have not received an NVC case number yet. Is anyone else in this same position?

If I am posting in the wrong group, please direct me to the right place because I can't seem to find it! :)

Whoops! I can’t edit the title but you are correct. It should read 2024 🙂🙂

Also, did you request your case number ? You don’t have to wait for them to send it

Now K-1 our case is showing READY on the CEAC website with a received date two days after sent from NVC. Zambia seems to have a very low-traffic embassy (at least based on the lack of members on this site), so timelines are hard to come by. My understanding is that the next move is to continue waiting on the packet from the embassy and the Invoice ID while also working through the I-134 and DS-160. Is this pretty much where we should be?

Does anyone know how long it’s currently taking NVC to send cases to the embassy in London, UK?

I am still waiting on NVC to send me my case number as my case was just sent to DOS Department of state on Friday 10th May. Will wait by and of the week and send a public enquiry. Also is there any estimate on how long they take to process a public enquiry?

Thank you and good luck to everyone!
