Newer filing months have approvals, curious why

We filed i-130 for parent of a US citizen in November 2022. We haven't received any RFE or anything. Almost immediately after filing it, our case was updated to "actively being reviewed" but nothing since.

Are cases assigned to a person from the moment they are received?

If that person goes on FMLA or something, are they reassigned?

Curious why we haven't gotten an RFE nor a decision but others seem to have those things.

Our case is nothing special. There are no divorces, no overstays, no misspellings, no immigrating children, not more than one place of employment for each person, and only one address each for all involved.

I'm a citizen, I filed for my two underage sons on September 18th 2022. Haven't heard anything except they're working on case and it's taking longer than expected. Last week I supposedly had 1 week remaining until decision and it went back to "taking longer than expected. Good luck!

I contacted our Congressman, David Joyce and his assistant, Ryan Kelly. contacted me the next morning to let me know, he sent a message to USCIS. He said it might take 30 days to hera from them, but he sent them a message.

Most applicants would want the I-130 to take longer for F2A, to protect the beneficiary from aging out, but I assume your sons are very young so there’s no danger of that?

Yes, they're 8 and 10.

No it was California, but I got a letter in November saying they were being transferred to Texas.

Hopefully ok then, they should have visas well before they turn 21, but personally I don't think I'd risk chasing to get the I-130 approved earlier just in case. Particularly as there's little point when no visa will be available to them for quite some time after it's approved anyway.

Edit: just realised you say above you're a citizen? But also say F2A, can you clarify?
