On short notice in the summer, there isn't much you can do to get cheap tickets. You can try to find airlines with last minute far offers, but thats about as good as your going to get.

You will sometimes find cheaper fares for a round trip as opposed to a one way.

Always search both even if you have no intent to use the return trip.

I agree with what has been said - for some reason O/W fares seem to be more expensive than R/T - doesn't make sense but it's true.

To go to Nepal I have bought my tickets from Tashi Sherpa at Himalayan Adventures Tours in Queens - I will try to find the number if you are interested. He has been very friendly and helpful to me.

My wife wound up dealing with a travel agent in the United Arab Emirates though, and the price we paid through them was comparable with the above site without the complication of me buying tickets online from the USA for her.
