US passport style 2x2 inches or about 5x5 cm.

It needs to be a straight on view, against a white or off-white background. it should show your head and shoulders.

If you know what your doing with photos and photo printing, you could make your own.

The dimension of the full frontal facial image of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photos should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print the name (and Alien Registration Number, if known) on the back of each photograph.

I just hope my photos are ok - I took the UK standard passport photos but they are slightly smaller than the US ones... Has anyone else from the UK sent UK standard passport photos and had them be ok?

I have read posts of people that have had them accepted and others that received an RFE for the wrong photo's. It seems to depend on which employee is looking at your package.

Hmm maybe I should get some new ones taken just in case... then my OH can take them back with him and mail them quicker if that's the case... I hope I get someone who is nice and thinks they are ok...

we did it ourselves for precisely that reason... all the photos I could get taken here in the UK were the 'wrong' size, so I got a friend to take some at work, and we cropped them down to the correct size and printed them on photographic paper

of course, we haven't been approved yet, so this is just 'what we did' not 'what worked for us'
