It's very sweet of you to be thinking of me. I am trying to attain the level of posters whom I consider more supportive and less selfish than I am.

It's interesting that your Latino acts and reacts as he does. Perhaps the "macho" culture is moderating. Lord knows that the women down there are past ready for that. I observed two other married couples in Ecuador, and both men were terrible Machos -- I was appalled at how they treated their lovely wives. Even my SO's dad is a Macho. We can't blame them, because that's the way they were raised.

And, since we already have The Prettiest, why can't we also have The Babbliest? Si, man?

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

Oh, maybe it's because he grew up surrounded by women. His dad left when he was about 7 so two sisters and a very independent mother probably helped him out that way. He is incredibly respectful but still has a latin rage every now and again. He'll have one over me being on here - but I'm not telling :D

Hey T....I'm sorry to hear about your problem. But I'll be honest with you. Common sense will tell you that you're better off to figure out all this now before you get any further invested in it.

To tell you the truth, I'm thinking you're going to be happier in the long run. In fact, I'd bet on it.
