i downloaded all of the AOS forms from VJ, but then when I opened them, they had some odd characters

ex. I-485, part 2 reads: Part 2. ÊÊÊ Application type.Ê(Check one) <-where it says (Check .. is superimposed on the last Ê character)

so i downloaded them again from the USCIS website, and its the same deal. Can someone check them to see if its just my computer, and I should find somewhere else to download them, or if they are indeed funky forms?

I don't want to turn in weird forms- would that create a problem in my packet?

dont want any RFEs or rejected apps...

should I go ahead and fill them out anyway?

:help:

similar problem with I-131

g-325a is fine

I-765 is fine

I-864 is fine

Could be your version of Adobe. Check to see if you have the latest version.

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

i just downloaded the newest adobe prior to opening these docs, so thats not it.

could it be a mac/pc compatibility thing?

Doubtful, esp if the other forms are downloading fine. Can you use someone else's computer to download the forms?

i have a bunch of macs they all open the files fine. You know, that is a really odd problem. Try repairing the permissions on OSX (if you don't know how to do that email me or something)

Not sure what the heck is going on there

Do you have a Mac? What happens when you open them using Preview instead of Abobe Acrobat? Do you still have the weird characters? If so I would guess it's a font issue.

For the record I've never had any issue with Mac, I tend to view PDFs using Preview though, although I completed my AOS forms using Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 (for Mac).

See my PM.

But yeah, I've never had this issue as I've said, could indeed be a font problem, language setting or just permissions need fixing. Onyx is a great tool for that BTW.

i opened it on a different computer.

I filled out my paperwork with adobe acrobat (the acrobat writer) because i wanted to make sure that the person that receives the documents understands everything!

i know it may be a minor detail maybe, but I felt better after sending everything typed instead of written :)
