Florida Drivers License Exchange

Hi all!

I went into the DMV on Oct 5 to exchange my license, which seemed to go fine. They gave me a receipt back and a temporary license and on it, it says they are verifying my legal status and will take up to 60 days. I haven't seen anyone else have to do the 60 day wait before on the forums so I'm just curious to hear if anyone else did.

I looked on the FLHMSV website and it says nothing about a 60 day wait period for immigrants. I do see a 60 day wait for non-immigrants getting a Florida license.

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

It's because the SAVE system didn't find you right away. I had the same issue years ago long with many others. I think what you have new is your temporary license for thos 60 days. Normally they send you away with nothing saying come back later.

Ah yes. Makes sense. Yep, I have a temp for 60 days. If I don't get my license within 60 days, they said I'm to go back to get the temp extended or a license printed at the DMV.
