Question about CSC and overall timing

Hi Everyone,

I had a look at the CSC processing dates and it states that they are now processing cases with a Receipt Notice Date of January 13, 2007. Link Here

Does this mean that those couples who lodged their I-129F's during January 2007 are only now being processed by the CSC?

If so, that's going on about 6months now, which is quite a while.

Don't get my wrong, I'm prepared to wait that long coz I know nothing can be done about that.. but I ask this question because my partner and I have not yet lodged our I-129F application but are planning for me to make my final move over there during January 2009.

So when factoring in the backlog at CSC, when do you guys/gals think my partner and I should begin our K1-Visa application process ..?

(note: I won't be able to move over there till end of December '08 due to work commitments)

Thanks in advance for any help.

No, it just means that those are the latest they are working on. I believe people from April and early May are getting their NOA2's. Some from June are too, but those are special cases (Cuba).

Thank you so much for giving me the heads up on that. I was getting a bit worried.

My partner and I are planning to apply to the CSC in mid February next year.. and get the K1 Visa approved some time around August... and then simply come over to USA January '09 before the visa expires.

That's the plan anyway.. hope all goes well.

So when looking at our plan.. does it seem reasonable to give a 6month timeframe for the Visa (I've looked at the Sydney processing times and it fits in with this 6month timeframe) ?

We don't want to get the visa too early, otherwise I'll be forced to move over before Dec '08...

Six to 8 months is generally the time frame from application submittal to approval. You then have a certain amount of time after that to enter the US (up to 6 months).

FYI:

I submitted my I129F early Feb, got NOA1 around Feb 15, and got our NOA2 on May 15. Now we're waiting on getting an interview date. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies.

Yeh, I have that 6-8months time-frame in mind as well incase there are delays and or problems requiring an RFE.

Even with 8months processing time things still fall into place well for a January '09 arrival.

Again, thank you to you both for being of great help and best of luck with your applications. :)
