Left the embassy and my fiancee got approved. The relief was massive. I want to thank everyone here for the support throughout this journey and to the others in the waiting pipeline hang in there you will make it. Much love to everyone

How long did you have to wait after your interview to receive the visa?

I’m a wreck right now. Interview appointment is in 10 hours. My partner and I have been reviewing basic questions for the past week. She does okay on most of them, but despite having met three times in person now she cannot seem to get the dates correct when we practice. She gets them all mixed up in her replies. I have a feeling we aren’t going to get approved. I don’t know what else to do to help her remember. We will talk again when she wakes up but I can’t take the interview for her.

Oh I misread. I thought it said in a few hours. Just do the best you can with the questions. Continue to practice them with her

Application refused. They advised that she is not allowed to translate her own documents (despite other guidance from this forum), so she is going to have to seek someone else to certify the translation. Further they wanted an additional copy of divorce decree; they were provided an original only. Scrambling to try and get paperwork together today and mailed if possible.

That’s surprising that they did not accept the translated document. Loads of people have submitted self translated docs and been approved but obviously every case won’t be the same.

 what embassy is it?
