first of all , happy birthday Monnik

the GREEN lights .. muuuuuuum

we also have most the other colors yellow, blue, red, white, etc

specially within the month of Ramadan when we start decorating the mosques , and here are some pictures which show that it's not just green !

ohhh also wanted to add 2 comments here ....

1- there is no such a holly color in Islam .

2- Mohamed the prophet's favorite color was the white as he always loved to wear the white shirts ( Koftan & Gelbab ) but also he was wearing all the other colors .

thank you .. enjoy the pictures

Thanks for the pics Wael. Yesterday was the first time I saw the white lights at the mosques. But, that was outside of Cairo. All of the lights in Cairo so far have been green.

Unfortunately, I don't get out to explore very much and will possibly go outside even less during Ramadan. :crying:

But, I would love to see pics of the different decorations.

My brother, believe, if you wish, in a stone, but don't dare strike me with it. You are free to worship what you wish,

but others' beliefs do not concern you. - Wafa Sultan

I know that the green color was not used to often in antique oriental carpets because it was consider as a holly color.

Very true observation apple. I never even thought about that...lol

Ack, green's one of my personal favorite colors ... and the rugs in the entire house are green :P

Oops.

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )

Yeah my new place was already painted pea green with these beautiful sage curtians. I was going to repaint the walls taupe but now I think I'll just leave it. Green is a very healing color I've heard.
