129 kicked back

I filed my 129f with the 170 and sent it to the new filing location. Well guess what, I got a notice from the OLD FILING LOCATION that they were returning my file for the fee not being enclosed WHICH MEANS THEY LOST IT. Unbelievable. Now I have to wait for it to come back and then refile it. Have you ever heard of USCIS doing things like losing checks or returning stuff that had nothing wrong with it? What do you do? refile it again? Send another check? What the heck. I just lost a month. I am so annoyed . I have to wait for the 129 to come back to me or the attorney and then resend it again and there was NOTHING MISSING. I am so depressed. And we had sent it to the california center as per USCIS orders and the rejection letter came from the chicago lockbox which makes no sense whatsover. Someone did not know what they were doing ( i guess one of the new hires) This does not bode well for the change over. Also my lawyer put my husbands birthday backwards and had to send them a letter changing it. Wil that hold up the I130. All of the sudden he is telling me it may be faster for us to abandon the k3 if the I130 comes in fast enough because its been in play since June 19 and here were are almost August and my 129f is getting sent back to me and will have to be re submitted which means the time advantage of the 129 just disappeared. I am going to have an approved I130 much faster than the k3

May be a lucky mistake as the CR -1 [i-130] is a MUCH, MUCH better visa. Cheaper also.

If I were you I'd forget about the K3 [i-129F] and go all the way with the CR-1.

Wish we had! K3s suck bigtime. It was a disaster in our case both money wise and time to get GC and SSN which affected a LOT of things that could have been done with a CR.

Just my $4,000+ [cost us more] worth of advice.

I'm very happy we went with the K3/K4 process. Different people have different circumstances and priorities. In our case, the time difference would likely have been six months or more bringing my South China family members from the tropics to the USA in the dead of winter. Both have been here 11 months tomorrow and are months away from any need to work.

Opinions vary.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous
