One is for nonimmigrant (K) visas and the other is for immigrant IR and CR visas. They are not interchangeable.

The I-864 is a required binding contract between the sponsor and the US Government. The I-134 is not binding. It's more of a financial statement.

Well, you have no timeline and you're posting in the K3 forum. You don't "file" an I-134 and don't file an I-864 until NVC asks for it. What petitions have you filed?

Then there is no visa involved. Posting your question in the K3 visa forum confused us. Yes, you will "file" the I-864 along with the I-130 and I-485. For a visa you don't do that.

There is a guide for doing exactly as you intend.

I'm more of a "teach a man to fish" person than a "give a man a fish" person.

Go to the top of any page and click on the word "Guides".

The appropriate forum is called "Adjustment of Status". Click on "Forums" and scroll down until you see it.
