DQ IR-1 case still waiting for an interview in Beirut since February, why the delay??

Hi there, I've had such bad luck with my supposedly straightforward case. Every step took much longer than necessary and now my case has been documentarily qualified since February, so nearly 6 months, and still no interview. My immigration case falls under IR-1 and I've been married for over a decade. I started the process back in August 2021. Has anyone else faced such delays? Is there anything I can do to expedite? Also I saw someone mention a Whatsapp group. I desperately need some information to know how long I should plan to stay here. Neither NVC nor the embassy have provided any sense of timeline.

This is common.  Your case is in the NVC queue for your country.  Some queues are very long.  Unfortunately, you also face the possibility of an extended administrative processing after the interview.  AP cannot be expedited nor waived. 

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interview when case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

5. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

6. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

Thanks, yeah I'm aware of the timeline once an interview is set, but even with all the new delays it seems my case has taken longer than expected and now I don't know if I should expect an interview letter this month or a year from now. A delay can be managed if one knows in advance how long it might be. I wish the embassy could post a weekly update, for example the embassy could post that all interview slots for immigration visa are booked until I don't know December 2023. This will give people a sense of timeline and help us make contingency plans accordingly.

Consulates, as a whole, could certainly improve communication with applicants.  Have you looked at other timelines for your country?  That might give you an idea (if people have properly updated them).
