I met the hubs at the UCL student bar in 1991. Shortly we agreed to see a popular beat combo Nirvana at the AStoria shortly after and the rest is history..

you're dating youself, namedropper! :lol::devil:

wot can I say? You know you're old when such bands appear on VH1 classic and you realize that their albums are almost as old as Sgt Pepper was when you were watching MTV in the 80s.

It was a pretty good gig - I got soaked with beer

My husband (from Scotland) was talking to another friend online who was searching Yahoo! profiles, so he decided to check it out as well. He messaged me, we spoke for a few minutes but then I just stopped talking because my sister was getting ready for a date and I went to visit with her before she left. I came back later and he had sent a few more messages. Luckily he was still online and we started talking again. Kinda makes me sick to my stomach to think I almost blew him off and he ends up being the love of my life! (and biggest pain in the ### too though)

I was a regular member for years on a Catholic message forum. Simon joined to look around for information about becoming a Catholic priest. We would bump into each other on different discussions. Someone started a thread about "what does your avatar mean" because most people had avatars of a religious nature, artwork and such. Mine was a photo of me, and I said that, well, mine is just a photo of me because I didn't have anything else at the moment, or something like that. He responded simply - You are very beautiful.

So I emailed him. :) Then he wrote back, which I never expected. We wrote constantly for days and days, then got brave enough and he called me. It was the most amazing thing to hear that accent and that voice - I kept playing it over and over in my head. I made plans to visit England for the Easter holiday, and it was then that he proposed. After Mass he got down on one knee in the front of the Church and asked me by my full name if I would marry him. I fell to my knees in tears and said yes. :D Hollywood could have never done a more perfect proposal for me.

So - here we are, only a few weeks from our first wedding anniversary. What an amazing journey it has been. And this site here helped it become reality. I'm not sure I would have got through it all without you.

Me and hubby met on a music band site, we both have the same favourite band.

We got chatting about music and the rest is history for the grandkids!

Weird thing, meeting on the net. I was very nervous about telling my family, as it has such a stigma attached.

But, they love him and I love his family dearly.

now Im getting emotional...excuse me
