Hello,

I received an envelope from the US embassy here in germany. the envelope includes that a cover letter saying that they are processing my application,  residential form, checklists, instructions on how to proceed with the application (medicals, etc), etc but there was nothing in the envelope stating that I should mail them any documents. Is this not suppose to be the packet 3? I read here that the supposed letter from the embassy (packet 3) is also to instruct you to send some documents to the embassy including some original documents via courier and I will now later get a letter from them saying that I can now proceed with scheduling the appointment, but in this envelope I received, there was nothing like that. Anyone experienced the same thing? Should I go ahead and send them the documents even though they did not mention it in the letter? or is the packet 3 content differs per individual? Please I will appreciate your advice on what to do. Thanks

Hi Mistos,

When you check your status on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do what does it say?

From reading your post, it seems that you are on the early stages of the K1 application. Sounds like you just received NOA1 (Notice of Action 1).

NOA1 is a notice of action will either confirm that the government has received the application or it will contain the immigration officer's decision to approve an application or petition.

The case status shows ready. Not NOA1.
