Hi.has any one finalized the N 600k in their home country at local embassy?

I think there is a local field office for USCIS in my country.

Especially if the kids are too young for an oath.is travelling necessary

I thought all the USCIS foreign field offices were closed.

Are you active-duty US military assigned abroad?  The N-600K interview must be conducted in the US, unless the child resides abroad with their USC parent under official military orders.  Doesn't matter if the child is too young.  Babies are allowed to travel via plane.  Temporary US physical presence in lawful status is a basic requirement of the N-600K process, listed on page 1 of the instructions -- https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/n-600kinstr.pdf
