Anyone waiting on IL at the Johannesburg consulate?

PD May 23; still waiting since becoming current in April

When were you DQ’ed? And just checking, but where you born in SA or elsewhere?

DQ August 2024, Yes, born in SA.

I'm starting to think it is because of my far DQ date

Shouldn't be, says they're scheduling those who were DQ'ed in March. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/iv-wait-times.html

Your profile says E-2, do you mean EB2? And you've not filled in your timeline, please do - it would be helpful to know your exact PD and category.

Quick question for the group: So the NVC ended up sending me a checklist, and I've addressed that. Now I get another one of these .rtf attachments saying that I've been DQed. Previously I've received one like this back in April 2024. Does this mean that my DQ date has been reset to 6/11/2025? 🥲

No, your DQ date doesn't change. That's just a standard email, presumably you have become current just this month? So that's why it's been sent to you, to let you know you're now in the line for an interview.

I have pending EB2 with PD of 5/30/2024. I plan to do consular processing. What embassy has short backlog? Kuala lumpur, amman or abu dhabi?

Certainly not Abu Dhabi, it’s years there. But where are you living? Consulates will only accept your case if you are resident in that country, you don’t usually get a choice.

What is your legal status?  I ask because there is always a risk of a ban in certain circumstances.

Then you'll need to contact each consulate to find out if they'll take your case, but with Iraq do be prepared to be there for a long time as extended AP is very likely. KL or Amman will both be about the same wait for an interview, they're fairly quick, so go with whichever you can stay in for longer. Just avoid AD. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/iv-wait-times.html

Good luck.

Hello,

Is anyone else also waiting longer than usual at the moment to get docs reviewed after mailing them to NVC?

You always need to add a week or two to the quoted NVC processing times, as it does take longer for mailed in docs (rather than uploaded as most do). How long have you been waiting?

It's been almost 2 months now, I also heard other people in the same situation, I was wondering if there is an unusual delay currently.
