We are trying to finish filing our AOS without EAD and AP (no money to send all the payments). I am a little confused with all the fees also.

We are filing the $325 and 70 for biometrics only correct for a total of 325? I can write a check for the total right?

What address for sending from California?

Thanks all!

The correct address is in the instructions that come with the form. It's a Chicago lockbox address.

You realize that if you file for the EAD and AP after July 30 - they are a LOT more expensive than they are today.

$325+$70=$395 NOT $325.

Yes you can send in the payment in 1 check, or 2, We did two, one check for AOS, and one check for biometrics fee.

It gets mailed to the Chicago PO Box, indicated in the I-485 instructions, on USCIS website, and in the VJ Guides, only exception is if you live on Dallas, El Paso, or Oklahoma City.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

Lastly, the rate goes up next Monday July 30, so get it into the mail before them, or you will be looking at $1010 for AOS/EAD/AP no choice you get them all even though you just want to do AOS.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

DORA has been suspended in Oklahoma and you can mail the AOS in to Chicago to beat the July 30 date even if you are subject to DORA in Dallas or El Paso.

Kez

Kez,

Just to point out. AP and EAD costs are covered. You still have to file for them if you want to, you can choose to not file them.

Yes thanks for pointing that out.... I cant see why anyone would pay for them but not file for them but thats me.... the point being that after July 29th they are included in the AOS fee and the fee will not be reduced if you choose not to file for them.... where as at the moment you can oppt out of filing for them if you need to save money... this will no longer be an option...

Neither do I, but i could see someone down the line saying " I did not know I still had to file the forms"

I was just trying to eliminate any one from mis reading the thread.

If we were adjusting right now, I would wait to file. Seeing how often people are having to renew the EAD and AP, it would be a safer bet to wait and file and then have no more fees until lifting conditions

I though the EAD is 180 more and the AP is 170 more, am i correct?

that would be 395+180+170=745?

If you file before July 30th that will be the fees: AOS $325 and Biometrics $ 70.

We did 2 seperate money orders for them, which worked fine that way.

So pay 395+180+170=745 now or 1010 on August 1 because if we dont file our EAD and AP now it will be 1010 anyway?

Sorry for so many questions

Until July 30. Yes it is

On August 1, it goes to $1010.00, but it includes all interim benefits.

Not really.

If you pay the $745 now including EAD and AP. If and when you need to renew the interim Benefits, you will be paying the new fees for those.

Now there is a chance you will not need to renew those benefits, so this all may be moot.
