Receipt # not recognized on USCIS website

Hi, I just sent my package again after receiving an RFE from the VSC. I got the RFE back in May and they received my package a week ago. I tried checking the status of my case on the USCIS website but it's saying that this number doesn't exist. Is this normal?

If you are talking about I-751 receipt, then yes, it is normal. That information is not available for the public, and even CSR won`t be able to give you any info on that, you`d have to ask to talk to an Officer.

The NOA and the RFE have different receipt numbers. The receipt number on the NOA works but the status hasn't been updated in a long time. The RFE number gives me this error message:

Validation Error(s)

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

Case Status Retrieval Failed

This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

I'm wondering if they haven't processed my RFE response yet and that's why it is returning zero answer or should I see something?

The number on your NOA is the number for status updates and now it's a waiting game.

My sis-in-law's status never changed online, even though they had an RFE. Her status said they were processing her application, even though she had received an RFE in the mail that she was missing important documention needed to process her application. I may be wrong, but I don't think the updates mention that they have received the RFE package, only case status(i.e. being processed, touched, approved, denied, etc.)
