My status changed to "ISSUED" this morning!!  3 weeks + 1 day from my interview and 1 business day after we put in a request with our congressperson.  I will update you all when I receive my tracking # and passport as I couldn't find many threads about medicals delaying this process.  My medical was received by the consulate the morning after my interview.  I was completely dumbfounded by how long this took.

Congrats! I'm happy that your passport is going to be reunited with you soon and you can finally join your spouse. My visa hasn't been issued yet but the embassy received my police certificate on Monday so I'm hoping I'm not waiting too much longer.

Congratulations!!!

I think my fiancé's visa may be processed in a similar batch as yours, although his changed to "approved" not "issued" this morning. It reads "Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than 10 working days, please see the webpage for contact information of the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application" and we have not received tracking. Did yours go through an "approved" stage too? Just trying to figure out how much longer to expect... This process is utterly ridiculous.

I'm not sure...there are only two statuses for CR1/2 (spousal visas) so I went directly from "refused' to "issued" final processing with the same verbiage you have.  I haven't received a tracking number as of yet! :( Good luck! This is absolutely ridiculous!!

Ahh, ours was a K1 so that’s probably why it had the extra step. Ours got issued on Dec8th and we received tracking that same day, with the visa arriving yesterday. Fingers crossed yours will be showing up any day!!!

UPDATE: Received tracking today at 3pm! One week after I was "issued" in the system.  I also found out that the consulate hands over the passports to Canada Post the day you get "issued" so from that point any delay is due to Canada Post.  They are so busy this time of year so it took a full 5 business days for me to get my tracking #!! :(

Montreal was taking 4-6 weeks to review documents, so 3 weeks plus a day is pretty good.

Something else people need to remember is immigration is a privilege, not a right.  We all want to move, we all want to be with our loved ones, but it's not a guarantee.  Yes, Montreal is an appallingly challenging consulate to work with considering it's in a Western country and yes, US immigration needs reform, but it doesn't change the fact that immigration is a privilege.  Be thankful when you get through the process with just a document needed and aren't handed a DS-5535 and put into extended AP.

Update: Received passport this morning and cleared customs at Pearson in only 30 minutes.  My interview was on November 14th and was approved pending medical which was received the morning of the 15th.  Took a full 4 weeks to resolve.

Good luck to all of you still waiting! It's a painful process especially for those of us separated from our loved ones.  :(
