Renewing passport before DV Interview

Hello,

 

I've submitted DS-260 with a passport that will expire on Aug 2023 and also, I've already been scheduled for an interview on January 2023. So if everything goes well, I would receive visa at the end of January having few days to travel to U.S before the minimum 6 months valid passport required. For this reason, I'm considering renewing passport and present the old one and the new one in the interview. But I'm not sure if I can encounter any problem due to I'm showing a different passport number from what I put in DS-260 form. Any help is appreciated

Not a problem.  Bring both passports to the visa interview.

Not sure where your from but some countries when they issue the new passport they put holes in the old one to cancel it out. If they do this and you have your visa in the old passport ask them not to put the holes in your visa. It will still be good along with the new Passport.
