i just see it all as another attempt by another country to influence events within the usa.

Unfortunately the illegal immigration problem has gone on so long, and so many federal administrations have gone by without doing anything about it that I think it's given a feeling of legitimacy to illegals.

I just can't fathom why someone who breaks the law, whether knowingly or not can bring any legitimate complaint against the government for cracking down on what is, ultimately, an illegal activity.

Its like not licensing your car, and then bitching when you get a ticket.

As a high school social studies teacher, I have to say I would be proud of my kids if they legitimately cared enough about something to stage a protest- and used the school time as protest time, proving their commitment.

But wouldn't you be more proud if your students actually knew what the details of the immigration reform bills up for debate were?

i'm sure it's viewed as a way to get out of school for most. then claim discrimination if the school marks it as unexcused.
