What have been some of the reasons people have asked for the AP?

Can you put my mother's health is not good and if I need to leave (emergency), I would like to know I can leave and enter the US with no problems.

Traveled to Morocco on Aug 3rd, 2005

Got Engaged on Aug 16th, 2005

Left Morocco on Aug 19th, 2005

08-29-05 Filed I129F

01-09-06 Interview Date (9am) We were not approved today, I guess we got a 221g of the damn S. Korea Police Certificate that Casablanca said we didn't need.

03/03/06 Turn in Passport at 9am

03/15/06 Visa Issued

03/31/06 Enter USA via JFK

05/15/06 Wedding for Visa

06/10/06 Mailed AOS papers

07/06/06 Biometerics Apt

07/15/06 My offical wedding day....I know .....:-)

07/10/06 Touched

08/25/06 EAD Approvel

09/01/06 EAD in Hand

09/26/06 AOS Interview (Recommend for Approval)

10-05-06 Received Welcome Letter

10-10-06 Green Card Arrived.

Because they want it. That's all the reason one needs.

The reason you offer is fine also. But recognize that having AP is no assurance of re-entering the US with no problems - depending on your circumstances, there may be problems.

I think if you pay them the money, then you get the AP!!!! Just my observations of course :whistle:

All I said was that I wanted to go home to visit....gave no specific dates, just asked for multiple visits, and got it with no probs.

Removing of Conditions Timeline

05/29/2007 - Sent package to NSC

05/31/2007 - Package received by NSC

06/01/2007 - Date on NOA (1 day after they received our package!)

06/11/2007 - NOA and Biometrics notice received via snail-mail

06/21/2007 - Biometrics taken

04/03/2008 - Transferred to CSC

05/14/2008 - Approved (notified via email)

05/21/2008 - Card received

Reason is more of a formality. What you stated is a good reason.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

We said that parents were elderly and required medical attention!

Request MULTIPLE entries and place any reasonable date of travel in the box...doesn't matter if not real travel date.

It w=takes, on average, about 90-days for AP to be processed.

I read somewhere in this or "Working & Traveling prior to getting a Green Card" forum that you don't have to have a separate statement for the reason when applying AP when applied with AOS together, and some people got their AP that way. So we didn't include a reason for the application, hopefully we won't get a RFE.

It's silly that USCIS requires such a statement as the rules have been relaxed, they know perfectly that it's human nature to visit their home country after being away for some time.

I-129F(K-1)

9/7/04: Engaged

10/25/04: Sent I-129F original submission (Nebraska SC)

8/1/05: K-1 visa approved!

12/3/05: My honey and I entered through Chicago O'Hare together. She is finally home with me!

I-485 AOS

12/21/05: Got married

12/22/05: Applied for SSN, had to do manual verification, 6-8 wks:(; completed I-693 vaccination supplement w/ local civial surgeon

1/09/06: Got SSN card in mail, this is fast!

1/20/06: Sent AOS, EAD and AP package to Chicago Lockbox

1/31/06: Received NOA1's for AOS, EAD & AP

2/3/06: Biometric appt letter arrived today (wow! that's fast!), scheduled for Wed. 2/22/06

2/22/06: Biometric done, but found out we had the wrong DOB filled out on her I-485, cannot be corrected at the time because her case isn't in the "system" yet. This is stressful.

2/25/06: I-485 touched

3/6/06: Infopass Appt in downtown Chicago to resolve the DOB issue. Had to send a letter to the processing center.

3/24/06: AP approved and sent in mail!

3/27/06: EAD touched.

3/28/06: EAD approved online

3/29/06: AP received in mail

4/29/06: AOS NOA2 received -- interview date June 28 2006. Online status shows still in process.

6/28/06: AOS INTERVIEW in downtown Chicago Sucess! Passport got stamped and Green Card is on its way!

7/8/06: Green Card arrived

I-751 Remove Condition

4/28/08: Sent I-751 package to NSC

4/30/08: NOA1 date

5/12/08: 1st NOA for biometric appt on 5/28/08

5/16/08: Another NOA for biometric appt on 6/5/08, we are confused
