Hi guys,

I had an interview on 10.05 B1 in Frankfurt to go to 6-week short academics program organized by University of Cologne. My uni told me to apply for B type visa because we won’t receive any US credits in USA. However, the consular thought that I must apply for J1 visa because I will get ECTS in Uni Köln. But after I explained that this program is fully organized by Uni Köln, not related to any US institutions, she gave me 221g yellow paper. I contacted my university again and they issued for me another letter to explain with US Consular that it is a 6 week excursion with university and ECTS is just Extracullar activity.
On 23.05.2022, the status changed to AP. Now there hasn’t been any update. I start to worry and couldn’t concentrate on working bc I will go on 01.08.2022.

Do you think I should apply again for B2 visa?
I used to get B2 visa 3 years ago in Warsaw. Don’t know if I could renew/ extend that visa? Do you know the processing time for B2 renew in Frankfurt too?

Thank you.
