Hello.

I applied AOS as well as I-131 and I-765.

Surprisingly, I received my EAD 25 days after I filed. ( It was so fast because I had a SSN before because of on campus job?)

However, my EAD was not combo card. Card says" NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO U.S."

I saw couple of people got non combo card here in VJ...

Does anyone know that will I get paper AP soon?

If anyone had a same issue, how long did it take to get AP?

Or should I contact USCIS?(Is it mistake?)

Thank you!

I-131 status is "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent"

It’s not a mistake. USCIS decoupled EAD and AP processing back in February, presumably to allow people to get to work quicker. You were very fortunate to get your EAD so quickly.

As for how long AP will take, currently they seem to be taking eight months or so, but your mileage may vary. One would hope yours might go quicker since you already got EAD, but impossible to say.

Thank you for the comment.

I also read recent articles that says USCIS no longer issue combo card in order to process EAD faster.

I guess I just have to wait for a while...

I guess so, unfortunately. Hang in there, hopefully it’ll arrive sooner rather than later. Best of luck to you.

*** Moved from AOS from Work/Student/Tourist Visas forum to Working & Traveling During US Immigration, to be among other threads about EAD/AP processing ***
