Hello All,

I am feeling a bit frustrated and discourage with the process. I called NVC today and got an automated response stating that Immigrant and Non Immigrant visas were being processed due to COVID-19.

The frustration lies in the fact that my case has been at the NVC since august 2021 my fiance is in Cuba and yes i am aware that she must travel to Guyana for the interview and i am part of a few other support groups just for Cuban K1's and last month cases that were created by NVC from May 2021.

Is there anyone other K1's from other countries dealing with similar issues?

Thanks

11/21/20: I-129F packet shipped via USPS

11/27/20: Backdated I-129F "received date"

2/23/21: I-129F fee charged to bank account

2/25/21: Text alert NOA1 Receipt/Case Number

Browse the forums for K1 cases from Haiti and the Philippines who have been waiting much longer than you.  Many who filed in late 2019 had their cases transferred to their consulate only this year.

You are welcome to vent here.  The long wait is definitely frustrating.  But if it makes you feel slightly better, then yes, there are whole groups of K1 couples who have it worse than you.  I only mentioned about the K1 wait at other countries because that's what you asked in your original post.

I understand your frustration. I am looking for forums with people waiting on K-1's for the guyana embassy. I was hoping to find out when last they sent for packages from NVC....

Hi,

sorry i have not been on here in a while my partner is actually Cuban but their embassy in havana was closed in 2017 and has since re-open but for only certain categories. At least in my case i know they have not transferred cases since April 2022 and the NVC has been sending me an automated message every month saying the same garbage look at the email below

Dear Sir or Madam:

This notice is to inform you that NVC is currently holding your approved Form I-129F (Petition for Alien Fiance(e)), and it has been at least 60 days since we received it from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). Your case number is HAV20xxxxxxx.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General in Georgetown. suspended routine visa services. Where local conditions and restrictions allow, some embassies and consulates have resumed processing a limited visa workload, including K-1 nonimmigrant visa applications. For embassies and consulates that were unable to resume processing their visa workload, NVC is holding your approved Form I-129F. We cannot predict when routine visa services will resume, and we cannot guarantee or predict when your case will be sent to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General in Georgetown.. When NVC does forward your case, you will receive another notification.

Approved Forms I-129F have a 120-day expiration date from the date of approval by USCIS. Once your designated embassy or consulate resumes normal operations, a consular officer will revalidate your petition for another 120 days. You do not need to take any action for this revalidation to happen, though you may need to provide evidence that you still qualify for the K-1 nonimmigrant visa. For the most up-to-date information about the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General's operating status, visit their website at https://usembassy.gov.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
National Visa Center Director
