Hi,
We received an appointment notice on March 25, with immigrant visa interview scheduled for April 21 (in Warsaw, Poland). We immediately reached out to both panel physicians (there are only two in Poland) for an appointment, but the earliest doctor appointment available was May 5.
Does anyone know if we should go to the interview without the medical results, and explain the situation? Will the Consular Officer be able to do the interview, and then allow us time to simply bring the medical results a week later?

The earliest options for rescheduling the interview are around mid September.... so a significant delay.

Appreciate any advice.

Attend the scheduled interview. The approval process will then be on hold until the medical report is received .. and then processing will recommence. That will be faster than rescheduling the interview

Go to your interview. You will get a 221g form for the medical. The status will say Refused (assuming everything goes well at the interview) until the medical report is received and reviewed

Do you know if the consulate will send another appointment notice once medical is received to come in and stamp/receive the visa? Or can it be done through the mail at that point?

If everything goes well at the initial interview, they will keep the passport. Once they receive the medical report and approve it, the next step should be to call you to pick up the passport (with the visa) once they finish processing and issuing the visa.

There shouldn't be a second interview if everything goes well with the initial interview

Thank you for the info. We are a bit nervous about leaving the passports with the consulate while being in a foreign country (Poland) for an unknown period of time (however long it takes for the doctor to submit the form and consulate to review)… technically we are supposed to have the passports and schengen visa in-hand while in EU. I am sure they’ll be able to better explain options after the interview. Will keep this thread updated.

If that is the case and they give you back the passport, they will then contact you to submit the passport when the visa is ready to be issued once they receive the medical report.

Good luck
