Hola Laura.

Alguien sabe???

Muchas Gracias!

Hi......

Wow, so you guys are already in the US! That is awesome, about how long did it take from the time you mailed in the I-29F form? I recently sent mine in around July 24th, and still haven't heard anything. I know it is a long wait, and I just need to be patient, but as I'm sure you are aware, sometimes it is hard to be patient.

Anyways, I guess I'm writing to get as much as advice as you are willing to give. Also, I'd like to know about the vaccination records that they ask for(for boyfriend) at the med exam and the interview, do you know where you can get these, and how much they would charge to get these records???? Also what about the police records that they ask for, for your boyfriend, where can you get those and how much do you think they charge for that?

I just want to get as much as we can get done before hand as possible so that when the next time does come we will be ready with all the paperwork and such................

Is there anything else you would recommend doing as we wait?

I know I have a lot of questions, mostly because my novio works, but doesn't earn very much as you probablly know how the job market is in Ecuador, and therefore I will be sending him most of the money he needs to get the papers he needs to get, but I just want to make sure I send him enough, and such................

thanks you so much!

Michelle

Hey Everyone!

I'm not Ecuadorian but my husband is!! He's from Guayaquil (living in Italy right now)...Actually, we went to Guayaquil last summer and I really loved it (especially the food!)

It was a really beautiful city...

Anyways, as you can see from my timeline, my husband is due to arrive in Chicago in a week, and I wanted to surprise him by making cazuela, only I cannot find a recipe for the life of me. (I knew I should have helped my mother-in-law more in the kitchen!) Anyways, if any of you could provide the recipe, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance!

mlm369,

If you need me to write in english just tell me. For K1 you do not need the vaccinations record for the medical exam, but you WILL for the vaccination supplement I-693A when you are doing the Adjusment of Status. Try to go to Centro de Salud in Tena? and find out that information, or look deep in his mom papers.

Good luck in your journey.

The closer I get to one day getting an NOA2, the more questions I have about the rest of the process. I have read the reviews of the US consulate in Guayaquil, but I didn't find good answers to a couple of burning questions:

What questions were people asked at the K1 interview?

How long after the interview did people receive their visa?

Thanks for any help.

Comanda,

My questions were:

1. How we met?

2. If both of us do not have kids?

3. If i have overstayed any of my entries to the US.

These questions were asked for the girl that receives the papers of the packet 3. I made a big folder but the window was too narrow that i had to take out from the folder to give her the papers.

Then, after ALL the people has the interview, talks the consul and you will have the interview with her. Then you have more questions while she is checking your papers. Mine were.

1. When did you meet your husband? I corrected her saying that we are not married yet and she said, oh, your fiance i meant?

2. For how long we have being dating?

3. How many times he had visited each other?

4. If I overstay my entry to the UK? How long I was there?

and i can not remember more questions, but maybe you can find when i posted it around may 29 of this year.

Now when you receive you visa depends on where you live. If they approved your visa, you have to go to the DHL office near the consulate and pay 8 usd? for sending it to your home or sending it to a DHL near your home, there is some extra money, i guess 2 usd for delivering to your home. Mine was send to Quito in 2 working days.

Hope it helps,

SM&LP

Can everyone PLEASE write in English so that everyone can have the chance to grasp the few straws relating to Ecuador? Gracias (uh, whoops...).

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
