Hello. I am a Zimbabwean national living in the UK and my husband (USC) is about to submit our i130 so thats why my timeline isn't filled in yet.

I know I will need a police clearance certificate for the NVC stage. I know, I know, we are FAR from that point but because I'm resident in the UK, the process of getting my Zimbabwean police clearance certificate is going to take a while. I was last in Zimbabwe in 2017, so I wanted to know if I started the process of obtaining my Zimbabwean police clearance certificate now, how long is it valid for given that I'm not returning to Zimbabwe any time soon? I just don't want to have a situation where things get to NVC stage then I have to start the process on the Zimbabwean side (which is soo unpredictable; had enough of a headache renewing my passport 😔).

Police clearance letters are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. You are not required to renew a police clearance letter from your previous country of residence if you have not travelled to that country after the date of the issuance of such letter.

Thank you so much.. 🤗🤗
