Hi, this is my first post on this forum so be gentle!!.

Ok here we go, Im a UK citizen and my fiancee has dual citizenship both UK and US and are currently both living in the UK (She has been living here for the past 8 years). We have both decided that we would like to live in the US and are going to go down the K1 visa route. Upon arrival in the US we intend to live with her parents for the short term. Looking through the I-129F form it seems that its possible for us to send the completed form off while she is living with me in the UK. Basically we are trying to minimise time apart, she will be moving over to stay with her parents approximately 2-3 months after sending the form. Just wondering what address we should put in part A of the I-129F Our address here in the UK or her parents address in the US. Any help would be appreciated.

The address of her parents, specifically since she is going to be living there while you both wait out the K1.

I would use her parents' address as hers and your (or a close friend or family member's) UK address as yours. You are allowed to visit the US but the Packets 3 and 4 will be sent to you in the UK and you'll have to return to the UK for the visa interview. I suppose it is possible then for somebody to courier you the Packets after they are received in the mail but that will add a little time to your process.

My fiance (US citizen) and I are in a similar position to you. We're living together in Ireland, having both moved here from the UK last year. Being that we live together, my fiance put our home address in Ireland down for the "A" part of the form, and his parent's address in Texas for the part where it asks where we will be living when we move to the States. This obviously suited us as it is the truth.

As you say that your fiance is looking to go home during the petition process, I would still say that she should put your address down in the UK for the "a" section. She can call up and update the information with the USCIS when she moves back there. I suggest that honesty is the best policy.

Be aware that even though you can put your home address down as the place of residence for your fiance, the NOA1 will be sent to the American address you will include as where you will be living. The USCIS doesn't tend to send this mail out of the states, so just be aware of that.

Again, this is your decision and I'm just telling you what we did, seen as we're in a very similar position.

Good Luck.

Since you all are going to get married anyway, and she is living in the UK, I'd research Direct Consular Filing.

This will get you started:

Once you've read it, you may need to ask some questions of the London embassy, as well as in the DCF forum here on VJ. I believe she'd have to have a certain 'status' of visitor in order for you to qualify.
