Personally if it were me I would want a little longer to organise my things, pack things away ready to be shipped, decide what I am going to take, close bank accounts, cancel standing orders etc etc - all those little fiddly things first but then I don't know what your situation is and he might have already done all that!! Would defo be worth talking to him first though!!! *hugs* Ooooh! How did they let you know?!

Oh... and again - personally!! I would wait until I had my visa in hand before booking the flights - you can still get last minute deals but it would be awful if it didn't get there in time!!

Awesome news on the touch babblesgirl, keep us updated! I know I had a touch the day after calling, but the person I talked to looked up our case so if yours didn't that's a very good sign

Well, I'm not sure he looked anything up other than the case status online. I'm not sure that would cause a touch or not. He didn't give us any details at all. Just said 'be patient'. Either way, it's less depressing looking at a january date than a september one

well I was thinking of booking a flight with a no more than 100 dollar change fee, or having something put on hold for 3 weeks... they did that for me when I went to NZ b/c it was international they held it for 3 weeks but than again that was booked 3 months in advance, not this close... sigh....hmmmmmm i think his aunt works for air new zealand maybe she has some pull on the restrictions...

as for how much time, he already got rid of the lock up storage fasility that has most of his thing, the rest he he has all sorted such as 40 books he plans on shipping by slow boat. we wree gonna work on the bank out stuff this month, but that should not take that long. the only real major thing is goodbyes and selling his car.

there is a holiday here on Feb18th and its the last one i will have off from work for ages, so it would be nice to have him here for it make a nice 3 day weekend. that is what i hope for. we havn't seen each other since July, so you know how hard being apart is. It's rough!

Tucson was feeling a little low and thought we could all do with a pick me up - sharing jokes, funny stories, cool websites and general gossiping about how cool it is going to be when things settle down

Time will be about 6-7pm GMT (ie when I get in from work/picking up wedding dress/buying wine & healthy(ish) nibbles/whenever anyone decides to get active in that thread )

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is having a great 2008 thus far. I have a few pics from our trip - we made the best of our trip although we both realize that tropical is not for either of us and is something we won't do again. It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime trip. I did get the opportunity to wind surf, snorkel, swim with the dolphins and partake in the many Figiian traditions. We spent two days with the Ambassador of Figi and she was such a joy to be with - what an awesome experience!

I am glad to be back here with my fellow Visa Journey friends and very glad to be back home. Thank you for all of the well wishes and positive thoughts that are bringing me back to you all. It has been very hard as a lot of people will understand to be on this site and see everyone else just breeze by with their approvals. I apologize for the way I left but frustration got the best of me.

We are all in this together and now is the time that we really need to be together.

I will quote the Ambassador when she said to me:

"I wish you 365 days of unbelievable happiness, 52 weekends of beautiful sunshine, 7 days of loving one another and each day the best day ever." I wish this for all of us.

This is freaking ridiculous. My estimate waiting time is now on January 19th. It is sooo crazy. No updates whats so ever. I have no idea. Any late july filers have touches?

Depends on what you mean by late July - I think it is problems with CSC - they seem to have dropped off the radar and it is, I must agree with you, ridiculous... I thought things would slow down over Christmas but now we are into the second week of January and it is diabolical. I'm not sure what we can do other than wait though... I'm not even sure calling would help... VSC seems to be fine though!!!

Thank you Jeraly for the welcome back.

They need proof that we met in person in the last two years prior to July 9 and also needed my certified divorce decree. I have sent it in and still have not heard anything. Like I said, when I called, they told me that it may take 3 weeks just to find it in the mailroom and the notice states that they have 60 days to make a decision. This sucks big time.

About the trip - we had a lot of ups and downs and was happy in the end that some of the situations came up between me and Phil. We definately learned a lot about each other. We did not take the heat well.
