Hi all,

Wanted to first of all thank everyone for helping me out on so many previous occasions. My I130 reccently got approved even before my I129. It says on the notice that the petition has been sent to the NVC in Portsmouth NH. So I was just wondering:

1) If there is anything I need to do on my part?

2) What kind of timeline can I expect on this process?

Thanks again.

Hi Farcry. Welcome to the "#######? I-130 approved before I-129F Dilemma Club". It would help if you could please enter your info on the timeline and add your timeline to your signature. You can also check the Guide above for the chart on how the I-130 will procede. Do you have your NVC case number yet? You can call the NVC automated line and it will be updated when they've assigned your case number and/or made any changes. If you're going to procede with the I-129F, come on over to the 'http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69778' thread and add your info to the wonderful chart that G&A have prepared to help us all keep track of what's going on.

Hi!

Im curious, since your 130 arrived at NVC same day as ours. How did you find out that the bill was generated? The automated line only tells me it arrived there at the 26th and i have to wait 6 to 8 weeks. And what is that choice of agent mail? Something we need to sent too?

Thanks!

Hi Evahamilton

I found out the DS-3032 and AOS Fee bills had been generated by calling the NVC line early on last Tuesday morning. The NVC updates the case status notices every Tuesday (very early in the morning US East coast time). I also thought I'd have to wait 6-8 weeks but I was amazed to hear my message had changed to say the forms had been generated! If your message hasn't changed to that yet, then call again next Tuesday.

The DS-3032 is the 'Choice of Agent" form that the beneficiary has to fill out to tell the NVC where to send the next batch of documents. You usually appoint your spouse or perhaps you lawyer if you are using one. Please check the Guide above, there is a timeline there that lays out what all the next steps will be now that your I-130 is at NVC.

Also once you get the message that your DS 3032 and AOS Fee Bill have been generated, if you want to speed things up, you can do what is called the "James Shortcuts". Instead of waiting for these forms to arrive in the snail-mail you can send in the Choice of Agent information by email, and you can make up your own AOS fee bill and send it in with the fee. It's a bit complicated, and you need to go over to the "NVC" forum, and look at the top of the posts where it says "NVC shortcuts" - (it's pinned at the top). Look for "AussieWench"s post, and go to page 10 and 11 for the 2.0 version of the "James Shortcuts". Read the instructions very carefully as they can be a bit tricky. I advice you check out other posts in the NVC forum for more info about these forms and shortcuts, a lot of other people are asking about this too, so there's a lot of info there.

Good luck!

:)

First of all a great big thanks to everyone who replied to my email. Secondly I apologize that I could not respond to my own thread sooner but....

Anyway I am gonna call teh NVC tonight to see if I am assigned a case number yet.

AS for the timeline I never really gave that a thought till now but I will post it as soon as I get my stuff together which should hopefully be next week as I am going to England this week to see my wife. Again thankyou everyone for taking the time to respond.
