Hi Guys,

My fiancé (United States) recently filed for our K1, now I want to start preparing my paperwork. I am an Indian citizen.
I have read the site for India’s US embassy however as I am relatively so new I want to know documents that are required that are not mentioned on the site.
Can you please share documents required (From me and my Fiancé in states) or can be asked which are not mentioned on the site for the process to go smoothly during the interview?

Also, please share your experience and questions that may be asked.
I am looking for any information I can find be with the process/Procedures, documents, interviews, etc.

Your help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Alice

HI-Did you file the initial I-129f and get approved?  Or did he file the 129?  That is what comes before the K-1.  I'm not sure where you are in the process.  My fiancé is from India as well.  We filed our 129 in January and are working through RFEs now.  Hopefully we get approval and it will then move to a K-1.  So, let us know where you are in the journey - what has been approved or filed for. You can also update your timeline which is helpful for others.  Have a great day.

Hi,

We have recently filed Form I-129F, and we are waiting for the response now.
I would like to gather as much information as I can while waiting in order to be prepared.

I hope everything goes smoothly for the two of you.

I will absolutely will keep posting updates, and will be really glad if you could share the same.

Regards,

Alice

Has your I-129F been received?  it takes 7-9 months on average to get approval or RFE.  There. isn't too much to do while you wait as a lot can change before the next step.  I don't know if you saw this section, but it outlines the process and what is required.  But I think it is too early to start gathering docs for the next step right now.  You want to wait for your approval.  Hopefully you get an approval and not an RFE.  https://www.visajourney.com/k1-fiance-visa-overview/

good luck!
