I-1693A - Doctor will not complete

Hi everyone, I am hoping someone can give me some advice.

I am here in the USA on a K3 and am trying to have a cival surgeon that is listed on the website to complete my I693A form. I live in Louisiana and I am unable to get any doctor to do this without doing a complete medical.

I already completed a medical in Feb. 2007 in Canada.

What do I do? I really don't want to do the complete medical all over again.

Thanks

Lana

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Canada
Timeline

This has become quite a common problem it seems. The civil surgeons are either "acting dumb" about having to do the medical exam along with the Vaccination Supplement, or they have not been properly informed about the process.

If you had a medical exam done in Feb. 2007, then you do not need to have another full medical exam done again.

Many people, myself included, found civil surgeons that only completed the Vaccination Supplement. We were charged $35.00 for this service. Our civil surgeon simply copied the information over from the Vaccination Worksheet from the medical exam in Canada.

I would keep phoning around and see if you can find a civil surgeon who truly knows the "rules".

Good luck.

Look on USCIS website....they have a list of Civil Surgeons that can complete the form. Get the list for those closest to you and call each one. Perhaps there is one that would complete the form w/ just a minimal charge.

Good luck!

There's one CS who you can mail/fax your vaccination record to, and who will then send you a completed I-693A.. now, if I could only find the details. Anyone....? :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Mine are equally ignorant.

I got this surgeon's address off another immigration site, so I plan to use him. He charges $10, apparently, to do the transfer:

Dr. L.E. Arnold

4534 Westgate Boulevard, Suite 106

Austin, TX 78745

Tel: (512)444-3131

Fax: (512)447-4699

I had the same problem. I called each and every one of the Civil Surgeons listed, and I was down to the last two on the list before I found an office who knew ANYTHING about K Visas. Just like you, all the rest seemed to have no clue, or had a "prepared" speech about my having to undergo a whole medical exam. When I expanded my geographic search area (you may have to travel to Mississippi......still cheaper than $150/$200 for repeating the whole thing!), that's when I found a doctor's office who knew all about what I needed and were happy to take care of it for $35.

They were very popular, since I saw not less than 12 others leave with "sealed" envelopes and instructions not to open it, plus a copy for their records!

I see there are only 8 Civil Surgeons listed for the entire state of LA. If you're going on vacation you might consider doing it then. I heard 2 couples say they'd driven from a neighboring state, since they couldn't find anyone to transcribe their medicals either!

Best wishes for finding someone.
