Hi guys,

Really need some advises/ help, this morning I am checking my staff for the interview. However I can't find IRS TAX transcripts and GREEN CARD. I know I could go online IRS and download the transcript not a big deal. BTW the green card is good until 2028. Can I still go to the interview and get naturalized on the same day?

You can go with a copy of the green card if you have one. I once lost mine and my attorney told me it’s not always a big deal prior to N400 interview.

I hear a rumor that you can go to the interview without having the green card, but have to submit the card  later otherwise USCIS would not give u the naturalization certificate.

No time to file for and receive a replacement, and that is an added expense for nothing but a filing receipt to show. How about a police report about the lost green card? You can show them the police report at the interview and explain that is lost or stolen. Hopefully they will allow you to take the oath and get your naturalization certificate without the actual card.
