Children Birth Certificate Requirement

Hello all . I recently applied for naturalization along with my wife and we provided all the details requested including our 3 children names. However, at the end of the n400 online application, it asked us to submit scanned copies of our children birth certificates. All of my children are adults aged 39,34 and 26, so they cannot get citizenship like how minor children do. Submitting scanned copies is not an issue. However, I don’t have either of their birth certificates original on hand . They send me the scanned copies which I submitted, but all 3 of my children are in different countries and there is no way I can get the original copy from them since I am in the US. Do I have to take original Birth certificates to the interview? I really don’t know how I will get them

just have them get certified copies in their respective countries. They can scan these copies and send the PDF to you. You can then file your naturalization using these scanned copies.

Then have them mail you these certified copies in the mail. That way you will have them on hand for your interview date.

I do have to say that I was not asked to see the originals during my interview.  However, I would rather pay the mailing cost and have these documents on hand during my interview.

Thanks for the response. I can do that for both my sons since they were born in the Qatar so they have adequate records and certified copies can be gotten from there. However, my eldest was born in 1982 and nothing was digitized at the time especially since she was born in India. I am sure it is impossible to get that. I have the scanned copy, but no idea how I can get my hands on the original or certified copies. I tried the government website but there’s no record of her birth there probably since a lot of data was never digitized and uploaded.

I am really worried.

My kids are also adults, and we provided the birth certificate copies when applying as it asks. They say bring all the originals to the interview, but my husband was not asked for them. You could have your kids mail them to you, or explain why you don't have originals IF it would even come up at interview.
