I-134 Question regarding tax return

Hello :),

I am kinda preparing myself for the NVC -> Embassy stage where we have to file I-134 (Affidavit of Support).

A lot of this is actually clear, the only thing which makes me feel worried is the submitting part of the tax reports.

In our case we have only one tax report but an actual sustainable income (past 6 months around) which fits the poverty guidelines.

I know this question might have been already asked many times, but maybe somebody can state on this

situation what would be best to do?

Nobody wants to have a denial or anything similar, so in this case if its preventable maybe

there are people outside with experience what they did. Thx ❤️ :)

Tax returns are an important but not direct indicator of your current income. They put more weight on current income which is shown through employment letter and pay stubs. At my interview they  asked for the most recent tax return along with the other evidence, but consulates are different so not sure if it’s the same in Germany. At the same time you can’t present what you don’t have (ie previous years tax returns) so you have to work with what you have and looks like you’re in good shape.

Awesome, that is good to know, also hearing someone else's experience....definitely keep it in mind.

Thank you for your answer and your experience at your embassy :).
