Has anyone brought a child here under a K-2 visa and not received an Alien Registration Number for the child on the I-94. The immigration officer at the airport did not write a number on the children's I-94. However, he did write the number on my Fiancée’s I-94.

Chris was a K-2 (19 years old, if that matters) and he did not have an A# until the AOS processing began and one was then assigned to him when the NOAs were received.

He did have an I-94 in his passport with a unique departure number (the hard-coded number in the upper left hand corner of the I-94) so we used that on the forms. For A# I entered "None" since it hadn't been assigned yet.

The POE only wrote K-2 with the 90-day date on the I-94.

My wife's K3 daughter doesn't have an A number either. Just write "none" on the AOS paperwork. They'll assign one during the process.

sailorinaz,

the A# is the USCIS tracking number for a person. In most cases nothing has been filed with the USCIS for a K2 at the time the enter the USA with their K1 parent.
