K1 Visa weird situation

Hey everyone,

I am hoping everyone is having a good day!

I would appreciate every answer and response to my question.

we had our K1 visa and got approved and embassy asked for a new medical and a passport to be sent to them which we did.

When they received the documents they confirmed they received them and said they want us to send the sealed envelope that we received from them before!!!! We told them we havent received an envelope from the embassy,,, then they replied immediately and said they apologize because they thought they issued a visa  before 🤔!! And that they were going to print a new one.

couple weeks left we havent heard from them, we sent them an email to follow up , the person who replied said they need us to send back the sealed envelope to issue a new visa ,, we told them AGAIN we havent received sealed envelope before  and we havent had a visa from them before and that it is a misunderstanding thats and that we already clarified that in a pervious email. The person ghosted us and didnt reply back. Since then we havent heard from them!!!

Did that happen to anyone before where the embassy thought they sent an sealed envelope or issued a visa but they didnt? It has been 2 months that they have the passport but not getting back to us. Do you think they are fixing the issue on their end which taking them

this long? Its weird to me that they think they issued a visa from before.

OK.  They definitely have not issued the visa.  They probably have the passport there in the consulate.  I would continue to contact them.

this is Paris embassy so strange yes,   when something of this nature happens ,  it is usually country where the person's name is "too much like a lot of others"

so.  are u a citizen of France or resident from another country that could have name issues?

Hey Jeanne, thanks for the response.

A resident of France for almost 10 years now! Yes they are strange, and pretty unorganized i must say lol. They never replay to emails or public form inquiries, I called them couple of times they kept sending me to a dead end machine ,, but last week the front lady answered and said the visa section isnt available by the phone and i should contact them thru the public form, i did , and no response as of yet!!

But what country did u come from?

if you have a name that matches or closely matches any other name in the system,  it can be your problem

Originally from Turkey, but also French resident and naturalized. The embassy acknowledge their mistake that they didnt send a sealed envelop or issued a visa and said they would print a new visa. But that was 2 months ago.Recently they again asked for that we corrected them AGAIN.

do you guys think the reason why they not getting back to us yet, is because they are fixing the mistake from their end?

yes,  they have to fix it

they have to find out about a packet and where it went

and if you're from Turkey ,  i would say it can very possibly be a name issue either on the embassy end or with the postal service

but where is your passport,   that is usually delivered with the sealed packet by the courier

They have the passport, and they confirmed they received it.
