Could anyone advise me on this matter? I was selected as one of the winners of DV lottery 2022. However, I previously submitted an adjustment of status package based on employment. It seems like adjustment of status cases are taking longer to be adjudicated, so nothing guarantees me that I will very soon get a final decision for my case.

Is it possible fill out form DS-260 and select an embassy abroad as interview location? In this case, I won't have to drop my current adjustment of status case! Also, I was on OPT until February and got admission for another program to keep my status until I get receipt notices for my I-485 adjustment of status. Could I be consider on status if I am on authorized stay based on my pending case?

Thanks

Yes, you can list your home country address and choose the consulate there for interview. If it gets to the next fiscal year and your DV number looks close to becoming current and your employment AOS is going nowhere,  you can also change to DV AOS at that stage.

Question is anyone can help. Does the children migrating with the selected have to fill out a ds260? Also and if so do they use the same case number ?

Please don’t repeat the same question across more than one thread. Answered elsewhere.
