DV Fingerprints Issue

Hi people,

I had visa interview over two weeks ago and still haven't received passport with visa and other documents because of, as I've been told by embassy on the phone, some kind of problem with fingerprints which seems to be issue on global level. They told me there's a new platform for processing fingerprints and that sometimes they have problem with it.

Does anyone have similar experience or know anything about it?

Thank you.🙂

The problem would not be specific to DV visas, it would affect all immigrant visas, whether worldwide or all from the local collection agency your embassy uses. I haven’t seen anyone mention this anywhere else. What embassy did you interview at?

Oh dear. Hopefully you booked a changeable ticket.

Reminder to others from the DoS instructions for DV selectees: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-interview/diversity-visa-applicant-interview.html

Important Notice

You should not make permanent financial commitments, such as selling your house, car or property, resigning from your job or making non-refundable flight or other travel arrangements until you have received your immigrant visa.

I am glad to read others are in the same situation. I was thinking it only affects me.

Unfortunately I have booked my trip for the activation entry right after the interview and now I have to cancel it 😥

We also bought tickets but fortunately managed to cancel them 😀 I hope we all fly soon🤞😁

I have never heard about this kind of issues related to dv lottery interview process, but i had a similler fingerprint here in my country when i was going to bring my driving licence , before they give it to someone they should take his fingerprints , when they tryed to take mine, the system didn't detect my fingerprints clearly , so they wrote my informations and took my signature instead of fingerprints.

FYI have also seen reports of delays a few weeks after interview for people in both OC and AS regions. They haven’t followed up with their consulates yet but it seems likely to me it’s the same issue.
