Filling out customs CBP 6059B Form

Hi All

 

This is probably gonna sound like a silly question but what do you put on the customs declaration form that they hand out on the plane form CBP 6059B?

I’m due to fly out on a IR1 spousal visa on Wednesday 28th April and have six suitcases of personal possessions,clothes,watches,hiking gear etc etc,of course all items are staying in the USA as I’m emigrating  ,but would I have to enter all individual items?

please if anyone has or can share their experience it’d be appreciated,

it’s the little things like this that cause worry lol

CBP told me (I called ahead to my POE airport) to write “household goods” with no list or valuation. Then anything new you are bringing, list and value. Mine for example said 

Household goods

Cheese $15

800 Tea bags $20

 

i don’t remember the value. Just an example.

I would put "used personal effects" and "household goods" ( if applicable) and ask the CBP officer if you need to add anything.

 

I usually confirm with them anytime im in doubt about what needs declaring.
