Travel With Combo Card

Hey everyone, so we had our interview back on march 12th for I-485 green card. We still have not heard anything yet status just says interview scheduled. The interviewer said she needed to obtain our orignial I129F packet for K1 visa before she could make a final decision, and that is was at the Dept of State so she would request for it to be sent to her field office. Dont understand why she doesnt have it nor needs it for approval. So the dilemma is we are going to brazil on June 29th and now its been over a month and no decision or RFE we are starting to panic we wont have the decision beforehand possibly. The question is, how comfortable should we feel traveling with just the combo card?
