I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a great appointment. I just wanted to say that it really annoys me when some people that work at immigration seem to like to treat people in a mocking way, I think thats poor.

At least someone else who knew what they were talking about!

First of all, the *security officer* at the door kept looking through my husband's passport. After seeing he had written, A#, on the paper in front of him, I said that he doesn't have an A#. He just had this blank look on his face.

Why does your husband not have an A#? If he's applied for AOS he should have one.

Testing my knowledge for AOS from VWP

because they do not have an approved I-130 which is where the A# would come from

You get an A# assigned when you get NOA1 for I-130 and I-485, not after I-130 is approved.

Oops, Dr_LHA already said that :)

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09

Citizenship Oath 08/23/12

The OP didn't send form I-130.

Because they are a K-1, which means they have a A#!

My point is, no matter how you apply, you will have an A# either when or very soon after you apply for AOS.

It would appear to me that would be the first issue that needs to be resolved.

Yes my husband came on a K-1. No we didn't file the I-130 because that is not required when adjusting from a K-1. My husband DOES NOT have an A# on his visa. I didn't see an A# listed on the NOA1 for the I-485. I will look again...

I didn't see an A# listed on the NOA1 for the I-485. I will look again...

When you look, you should be able to find it above his name under "Applicant":

A#########

LAST NAME, FIRST NAME

If he has a K1, the A# should be on the I-129F approval notice (and it should be on the I-485 NOA1 as well).

Maybe they get pissed at people who can't wait a few months to get their benefits. He does have an A # and it's right on his NOA for the AOS application.

Seriously! The OP's NOA1 date is March 29th, 2007 and they've already contacted their Senator for assistance? #######?
