i864 income test 2021

I’m sure this question was asked before. When completing i864 for sponsoring parents, do they look at income or adjusted gross income (AGI).

This is what's written on the instructions https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864instr-pc.pdf:

 

"For purposes of this affidavit, the line for Total Income on IRS Forms 1040 and 1040A will be considered when determining income. For persons filing IRS Form 1040 EZ, the line for adjusted gross income will be considered."

What line item is this on 1040? Idk if I have 1040, 1040A, 1040Z

Your form will say the form name right at the top.

 

The line numbers change almost every year.  For 2020, TOTAL INCOME is on line 9.

Thanks for clarifying that. Yes 7b was for the 2019 form.
