yes your correct I called philippine consulate  and i can travel philippines less than 6 months expiration on passport as long as i will renew my passport when i arrive to the philippines

What did the give you? A pocket card that has AP / EAD Card or is it a piece of paper?

Planning to travel to Philippines on EAD/AP too. I heard a lawyer say to keep the trip within 3 weeks for purposes of "fluidity"; meaning continuity of stay or like you never left. Hence, you cannot be presumed to have abandoned your AOS by leaving. I intend to follow that advice. Best of luck!
