i-134 Affidavit of Support HELP!

Hi, I need some help! 

 

My father will be filing the i-134 for my fiancee since I lost my business due to COVID. He makes well over the poverty limit so I am not worried about that. He does file taxes with my mother so here are a few questions: 

 

1. Does my mom also need to file the i-134?

2. Do I need to file the i-134 based on the little income I had for FY2019 (we havent done FY2020 yet)

This is a good place to start.  

 

I scanned through the form.  It is based on one person, so your co-sponsor will only need to fill out.  The information about them might include a spouse, but it literally takes the co-sponsor's information into account and not the spouse or anyone else.  

Think of it like you are mentoring someone.  You take full responsibility and sign a paper saying whatever they do is your responsibility.  Even if you have a spouse, that does not have any bearing on you mentoring this person.  Therefore, your spouse does not sign the mentor paperwork.

The I-134 is the same thing in a sense of financial support.  Fill yours out, have the co-sponsor fill theirs out, and then you will be all set.
